Seeing the Future of Apple Vision Pro.

Alex Bratton shares why the future of glasses won’t be glasses at all.

I was recently asked for my prediction of how soon the Apple Vision Pro will look like a pair of glasses? It won’t.

I fully expect Apple to reinvent the entire optics/glasses industry the same way the iPhone became our cameras and now AirPods are going to be acting as hearing aids.

I see a world where something that looks different than glasses (and is way smarter than ‘dumb glass’) becomes socially acceptable and the norm because of the capabilities they bring. I’m imagining pinching my fingers and my vision zooms in 10x to better see the sports action in front of me, or possibly follows the action I asked it to. Not just AR overlays but real world life improvements.

AirPods turning into highly available hearing aids is the perfect parallel. What’s the equivalent for our eyes? That’s where visionOS is headed and I’m very excited about it.
